Late-Victorian Queen's Own Rifles officer cap badge, collar badges, shoulder badges, shoulder pips and buttons. Cap badge (ref. Mazeas p.37) blackened brass. Multi-part construction with gold '2' on a red felt patch held by a metal plate on reverse. Pin missing, the hinge and catch remain. Without a doubt, the nicest example of this cap badge we've seen.
Pair of matching collar badges and one shoulder badge also blackened brass or copper. Another newer shoulder badge, white metal. Three older shoulder pips with red felt and canvas backing, one newer pip with red felt backing, all with original lugs. The six buttons appear to be bakelite.

NEW! 17th Duke of York's Royal Canadian Hussars blazer badge. Great quality piece, silver and gilt bullion along with cotton threads. Black canvas background, white canvas backing. Center motif padded. Shows age and wear, probably pre-WW2 manufacture. Initially raised as an independent cavalry troop in Montreal in 1879, the 17th Duke of York's Royal Canadian Hussars achieved regimental status in 1907. The unit was mobilized for the Second World War on 1 September 1939 and became a motorcycle unit. The Three Rivers Regiment cap badge, 1926. Brass and white metal center disk/beaver. "During WW1 the regiment contributed troops to the 178th Battalian C.E.F. During WW2 unit was mobilized The Three Rivers Regiment (Tank) on Sept. 1, 1939 and redesignated as the 12th Army Tank Battalion. Regiment formed part of the 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade and fought in the campaigns in Sicily, Italy and Northwest Europe. The active component of the Regiment was disbanded on Nov 30th, 1945 after many hard fought battles" (Ref. The Concise Lineages of The Canadian Army 1855-date). Victorian Order of Nurses. 1897-WWI, bronze cap badge. Founded in 1897, the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) was established to provide nursing services to districts that did not have medical care. One of their first missions was to care for Klondike gold miners in extremely difficult conditions. Their epic history includes service to Canadian prairie settlers, soldiers during both World Wars and those hardest hit by the Great Depression. Rare Canadian Boy Scouts, 53rd Vickers Montreal Troop medal in sterling silver (hallmarked, maker also marked but hard to read - most likely W.Scully). 53rd Vickers Scout Troop was a large group sponsored by Hochelaga's Canadian Vickers company, the most important naval shipbuilding yard in Canada during WW1. CANADIAN VICKERS PLANT used to build boats for the english navy. It also built the first subway 's trains for Montreal's subway system. Medal dating most likely from 1920-30's.
