French wing of Navy Aircrew radio operator. 1939 regulation. Silver on bronze. Stylized wings, anchor to center with superimposed gilded star, part of cogwheel on top with incorporated letters 'ECTSF' in gilt. Shows wear points and some plating especially to left wing is gone. Denmark - post WW2 pilot's hat badge in bullion/enamel/sterling. This badge is of very unusual construction. It sports a wonderful oval centerpiece in sterling and red enamel that's affixed to body with two prongs. Gilded wing to center. It shows light wear and some patina. No damage to enamel. Belgium - DAT (Defence Aerienne du Territoire) Territorial Aerial Defence cap insignia. This organization was brought to life in 1936 (until 1946) and comprised of 2 former branches of Air Force: Aeronautique Militaire and anti-aircraft artillery. Its insignia are rarely seen as not many were manufactured; most airmen wore the traditional Belgian Royal Airforce insignia. Blue canvas covered oval with black cloth centre of DAT (in gold bullion) and red arrow tipped with blue head. Pair of prongs to reverse for fastening. 77mm x 44mm. Item # Av.154 (35).

WWII South African pilot's wings. The SAAF was most active in the West Desert of North Africa. They later participated in the invasion of Sicily and the Battle of the Atlantic, and comprised approximately one-third of the operational RAF command in the Mediterranean theatre. Silver wire embroidered and multi-coloured cotton shield and crown on black felt with canvas backing. Unusual variation with demarcation piping below the top edge of the wings, likely an early example. Some age darkening. Slight damage to silver wire on wreath at 7 o'clock. Gander Air Base (Canada) pilot's wing. Gander in coastal Canada was a very important air base for Europe-bound shipments of arms and troops during WW2. Silver-plated on copper. Centre is in red enamel and crossed runways in silver. Shows wear and some age. Centre is little worn. 2 tiny chips to enamel. Horizontal pinback for fastener. Pin lock is missing. Royal Netherlands Naval Observer wing in silver. Made by: Toye (England). Hallmarked to reverse. Pair of spread wings with blue enamelled disk and letter W (Waarnemer) in center. This one is a rare die-struck example. Good detail to feathers. Dutch Naval aircrews conducted most arduous and least spectacular jobs under the wing of RAF Coastal Command. Gold gilt. 91mm wide. These were authorized for wear in 1943 for all Canadians who performed meritorious operational service and completed a tour of duty. Worn on the center panel of the left breast pocket. Albanian pilot/air crew badge of the immediate post war era. It was abolished in early 60's making it pretty rare indeed (numbers issued were quite small). Wing in nice condition with most of silver-plating on bullion worn off. Few loose wires, but still holding well. Blue/gray background felt with paper backing (small tears to corners). Czechoslovakia - Radiotelegraphist (operator) badge in silver. 1947-53 pattern. Due to its short life (type) it is very hard to find. Beautiful badge of wings with sword and Czech coat of arms, lightning bolt in diagonal manner. Thoroughly hallmarked with all the proper marks. Low number of issue (23), impressed to reverse. Made by 'Provaznik, ASPOL, Praha. Number 5 within small triangle, '800' silver content mark, letters 'FP' within rectangle. One of 3 mounting catches is missing to reverse. Bulgaria-Kingdom era Air Force officer's cap badge. This is as striking as cap badges get. Size alone (122mm x 70mm) is quite bold. Die-struck in white metal with good detail. Centre disk of high quality enamel in Bulgarian National colors (red/green and white). Royal crown atop. Both Ferdinand I and Boris III had used this crown so this pattern has been used well into WW2. Centre disk is a separate piece attached to base via 2 prongs. Belgium - Royal Belgian Air Force WW2 era squadron badge. Belonged to I/I/I La Mouette squadron. i.e., 1st squadron of No.1 Group of No.1 Air Regiment. These were worn on collar or above pilot's wings. These small badges are very rare as only members of each particular squadron had received them. Most likely 1940 or prior to as after Germany invaded Belgium (1940) most airman escaped to England. White seagull in flight over water within red circle. Horizontal pin for fastening. Czechoslovakia - Air Force Radiotelegraphist 2nd class breast wings. This is 1954-1968 pattern but of early numbered type. Numbers are struck to reverse (236).
